German 10" Tall Ceramic Beer
Stein ~ Noch Ist Die Bluhernde ~ Quality German made stein measuring
10" tall with a pewter lid. The scene is a woman with a basket on
her arm talking to two gentlemen. The back of the stein, under the
handle, reads "Noch ist die bluhende goldene zeit". Sorry, I was not
able to determine the translation of this. In excellent condition
with no damage found. There is overall tight crazing in the glaze
consistent with age. The bottom is impressed "Germany" and some
numbers. I have not been able to determine the exact age or maker. |

Miller High Life
Ceramic Holiday Stein ~ Nice quality stein approximately 6"
tall featuring a snowy winter scene of a house, barn and a couple in a
horse drawn sleigh. The year made is not on the stein, but I
believe it was during the late 1980's to early 1990's. In
excellent condition with no damage. There is, however, a slight
rattling when you shake the stein -- it seems to have some tiny pieces
of loose ceramic inside the stein (a manufacturing flaw), as there is no
visible damage to the stein. |

Pewter Mug or Beer Stein w/ Pistol Gun Figural
Handle ~ Solid pewter beer stein or mug about 5" high and 7"
across the gun. The side has two small logo hallmarks, and another
appears faintly on the bottom that indicate it was made by Wilton. I
have no idea of vintage, but the gun handle seems to have some minor
handling wear. Other than that, I did not find any dings, dents or
flaws. A must-have for the breweriana or Western Americana
collector! |

HUGE 13.5" Tall Vintage German Pewter Lidded
Beer Stein ~ This is one of the more unusual German steins I've seen,
as most of them seem to have courting couples or tavern scenes, while this
one is of a trumpeter or cavalry rider with a full figure horse in
the background. What more, this stein is absolutely enormous,
measuring 13.5" tall to the tip of the lid, and it weighs 4
POUNDS. Around the bottom is reads in German: "Keinen tropfen im becher mehr"
which roughly translated means "More do not drip in the cup".
I'm not sure how that would relate to the scene on the stein.
I have looked the stein over carefully and found no chips or
cracks. There is tight uniform crazing all over the inside, and
there are a couple places on the outside where crazing is beginning to
show, for example on the man's face, the castle and some of the lightest
painted portions. The top and bottom have a peach colored iridescent
finish, which is a bit rubbed/worn in a couple places. The word
"Germany" is impressed vertically on the handle, and there are
some raised numbers/letters that appear on the side just below the handle
in the dark blue area. They look like either "141A" or
"747A". I assume this would be a mold or style
number. There are some impressed lines (hand done) on the bottom of
the stein, but no other indicator of maker. Because of this, I have
not been able to date this item either. My best rough guess would be
1900 to 1940, but I will leave the dating issue up to the educated
buyer/collector.
The metal lid appears to be pewter. It is in great condition and
features a fleur de leis type thumb opening. The pewter ring that
circles the handle is a bit loose (although very secure), so the lid
wiggles around a bit when you pick up the stein. To show you the
worst case scenario, I pushed the lid as far off center as I could -- this
can be seen in the right or left view photos. For display purposes,
however, the lid can be situated in the proper position (straight/flat)
and it will stay there.
Please contact us if you have questions, or if you'd like to see more
photos.
A really fantastic stein that would surely be the highlight of any
collection. Would make a very nice gift too!

Vintage Pewter Handled Mug or
Stein - Triple Stamp Marked ~ Heavy pewter piece in very good
condition, with some small dings and scratches. It appears to have been

old, but I have not been able to identify the marks. |

Small German Stein w/ Courting Couple ~
Nice quality 5" tall German stein with a courting couple in the
center, and pretty white flowers on either side set on a deep blue
background. One side reads "Der Durst aber Alles Beawingt"
and the other reads "Der Liebenicht Jedes gelingt". The
rough translation of this is "The thirst however everything defeats.
That of everyone does not succeed." The handle is a nice twig
or twisted branch style. The top of the handle has a small
rectangular indentation, so either it was made for an optional lid, or the
lid is missing. As you can see in the photo, the piece displays
nicely, whether it once had a lid or not. I found no chips or
cracks, but there is some handling wear to the peach pearlized finish on
the top and bottom rims. |
