Large Cardew Designs Yellow Porcelain Leaning Clock ~ Made by Cardew Designs of England, this whimsical porcelain clock measures approximately 12" tall. The top comes off, so it could also be used as a cookie jar. The piece is in perfect condition with no damage. The clock mechanism runs by battery. You can hear it working, but the hands don't seem to want to move. Someone who is handy could probably adjust it to fix this. The clock movement could be easily and inexpensively replaced. The retail issue price was $150, but we are offering it for significantly less to compensate for the clock movement sticking. An adorable decorative item! |

Vintage Bavaria Germany Hand Painted 10.5" Plate w/ Blackberries & Flowers ~ Beautiful fine porcelain plate measuring about 10.5" in diameter, entirely hand painted. The background is blue towards the sides, flowing into a very light pink in the center. There are bright pink pansy type flowers and blackberry fruit, and greenery connecting them. The back is marked with a shield logo with "Thomas" inside, and "Bavaria" below that in an aqua color under glaze. SIGNED by the artist "H. Fowler" in brown next to one of the berries on the front. The nice gold rim is about 90% intact. No chips or cracks, but there is some minor handling wear and a couple tiny scratches. German Kaiser Porcelain Nanking Bird & Flower 12.5" Charger Serving Plate ~ Gorgeous and very large fine china charger made in Western Germany by Kaiser. It measures about 12.5" across and the rim sits about 2" high from the table top, so it is a nice deep serving plate (good for food with juice that might run off a normal plate). A couple tiny knife scratches can be seen on the bottom of the plate, but only if you look hard for them. Matches a very large tea kettle we also have for sale in this pattern. 2 Running Dogs Fine Porcelain Figurine ~ This quality figurine of two running dogs is marked, but I can't seem to determine who the maker is, or when it might have been made. The mark is an overglaze red bird (eagle or sparrow, perhaps) with it's wings spread, much like the German, Austrian and Polish marks shown on Kovel's Marks Dictionary page 23. there is also an impressed number "7287". Possibly Erphilia of Germany, but I'm not sure. In any case, it measures approximately 6.5" long, 4.5" high, 3" wide, and is in excellent condition with no damage. The porcelain is nice quality and the piece is weighty for it's size -- nearly a pound. There is some paint rubbed off the large dog's tail (see photo) which is underglaze, and 3 short firing splits on the bottom -- both are slight manufacturing defects. I believe the large dog is a hound or hunting dog, while the smaller one is a Spaniel of some sort. |

Antique French Limoges Game Bird Plate #10 ~ Beautiful early 1900's handpainted Limoges game bird plate entirely hand painted and signed by one artist (Muville), in exceptional condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or evidence of repairs. Eleven matching plates are available.... buyers can choose any quantity. Our price is only $150 per plate, although the 1996 Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain (2nd Edition) lists an average book value of $250 to $400 EACH for similar game plates. Each plate features a different flying and/or standing bird scene -- they appear to be quail, ducks (mallards), pheasants, geese and/or sandpipers. Each plate measures 9.5" in diameter with a 7/8" ornate scalloped gold rim. All plates from this set are double marked with underglaze green Limoges France and star (Kovels #153G) Latrille Freres Mark #1 (factory), and a red overglaze (decorator mark) Lazeyras, Rosenfeld, and Lehman Mark #3 (Encyclopedia of Limoges by M. Gaston). They were fired between 1899 and 1913, and painted no later than 1922. Both companies were contemporary to Haviland from the Limoges region of France. All plates have a very minor degree of rubbing/swirls in the gold rim from handling and/or age. No other apparent flaws. Shipping is $8 for the first plate, and $2 for each additional plate. If a USA buyer purchases ALL 11 plates, we will offer FREE insured shipping in the continental USA. If you live outside the USA, contact us for your discount. |
